| Detail : | Work on a River Awareness Kit (RAK) for the Orange-Senqu River in Southern Africa began in June of 2008. The Orange-Senqu River Basin spans Lesotho, South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. As the largest river basin south of the Zambezi, the Orange-Senqu is heavily relied upon for domestic, industrial, farm and municipal water needs as well as for its diverse environment that supports a wide range of species. The RAK will address and inform people about high-priority transboundary water and environmental issues in the basin, such as shared water resources and the protection of biodiversity.
