 El Salvador, San Salvador, June 9, 2009. The Director of CATHALAC,
Emilio Sempris, held a meeting with Mr. Juan Daniel Aleman Gurdian,
Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA,
Spanish Acronyms), Orlando Altamirano, Regional Environmental
Specialist of the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID) and Daniel Irwin of the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA). The participants discussed the role of earth
observations in the development and regional integration processes of
Central America. Also, Mr. Irwin and Mr. Sempris gave a presentation
about the Regional Visualization and Monitoring System (SERVIR) to
members of the Steering and Coordination Team.
